Car Alarms: alarm enables the car to statr, acura vigor, acura dealer

Question
I bought a 92 Acura Vigor at a auction about 2yrs ago, and I had trouble starting it and found out it was the alarm. Also the pre-owner put a viper alarm on it, it already had a factory one. so a friend took the viper out and fix the door(handle) so it wouldn't trigger the factory alarm. It worked. So i get up yesterday get into my car and it would'nt start the same thing that happend a year ago. lights blinking, ticking sound. and the door thing doesn't work any more. I can't aford to tow it to a acura dealer or anywhere el's and get it fixed. but I am mechanically inclined and this is my only source of transportation. Can you please help me disarm this problem. So i can get on with my travels.

Thank you

Answer
Um, your friend seemed to have missed a few things huh?
If this is the FACTORY system giving you fits,
then locate the FACTORY ALARM DISARM|green/black |-|
wire in the large harness left of fuse box.
Splice into this wire, and put it to ground.
That permanantly disables the factory alarm.
If no joy.....
The aftermarket alarm seems to be doing it's job.
At least we know it's installed correctly
(and very well if your friend missed the starter
kill relay) which is actually a good thing here.
You can probably salvage it.

Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the
valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm, and reset
the grounded relay on the starter wire,
allowing you to start the engine.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

That should do it.

Let me know what happens.
