no siren but it flashes on the dash ALARM.
it will start then cut right off
the remote has no led's its an older type.
i can take a pic if you need one tomorrow, but i think if i could locate that module it would be a help, i swear when i fix this i am going to disable permanantly that alarm, i also have a after market alarm on there that works fine, why they left both active is silly..
thanks again

the car does have power but i can not disarm the alarm, it does not work via the remote, this is what the dealer says is wrong he claims the battery being dead over the winter caused the alarm itself to loose the communication with the remote, there for they have to reprogram the remote, i had to flatbed this before what a nightmare because of the way the car is, it is in a leey and very hard for the flatbed to get on, then it has to be a very small flatbed to fit there, then they have such a hard time getting it up on it because of the low front spoiler, remember my car has no door locks and the trunk has no power at all, so it is a totally manual trunk key no power it does not matter which way you turn this it will do no good, i have to find out where the alarm module is then if i can find out which wires to ground i can try that... any suggestions would really be appreciated .  thanks for the quick responce..

i have a 1993 dodge viper, i have not drove it during the winter however the battery died, after i charged it up i cannot get the factory alarm to disarm, dodge says that i have to flat bed it to them so they can re-program the factory alarm with the remote, but this is quite expensive since it is in my rear yard and would require a flatbed. can anyone tell me how i can possibly disarm the factory alarm, please keep in mind this is a real manual car the hood has no light, there is no trunk light or electric which means that you cannot turn the trunk key to disarm and there are no door locks on this year car.
thanks

My problem is the year on this car.
All of my notes start in 1996. So I have
no point of refferece material
to go by on a 93' Viper.

The other
trouble is that you would need to locate a
green/orange at the keyless entry module,
then ground it to bypass it. You see where my
and your delema comes in? You said your
Viper has no keyless entry, which puts us in
a catch 22. But if you could
disarm it by putting the key into the trunk
mechanism, turn all the way left, then right
to typicaly disarm the system, you would need
find a way to power up the car, locate the
disarm wire off of the trunk switch, and
ground it.

I hate to aggree with the dealership, but without
having the car powered, and a keyless entry module
to locate the factory alarm disarm wire, this
is a moot point. They have you by the short hairs
on this one. But there may be another option...

...Look in a Chiltons manual and see if yours has
a factory OEM alarm disarm wire listed, locate it,
& ground it to the chassis of the car.
Then power it up with a new battery.

Best guess mind you since
I am not there to do it.

Let me know what you figure out.
Interesting situation.

Describe to me what is happening
with the "factory remote" Is there an LED
in the dash that flashes, or a siren?
Got a pic of the remote?
Send it to INSTALLSUPPORT@AOL.COM

I may have an idea

Answer
This is bad then. The idea I had was that
you were dealing with the aftermarket system.

Try going to www.remotesunlimited.com  or
www.keylessride.com  to try to identify the
remotes origin, and see if you can aquire the
method of reprograming it yourself. If not,
go to the local dodge dealer, go in the back to
the mechanics directly, and find someone to
make a housecall on the side. Hell man, it's
a flippin Viper! Be as aggressive about this
as the car is on the road!
Damn, for this kinda money, they
can get off they're dead asses and come help you
out if it's a simple "programing" fix.

Point that out to them, or grab a tech
in the back and give him some $$$ insentive
to come to you.

Let me know how the hunt goes.
