Question -
how can i disable the oem alarm on a 96 camero?
Answer -
Some models are equipped with a factory alarm. The only way to disarm these alarms is with the factory remote or, turning on the ignition, to turn off the factory alarm.
This can be done by installing an aftermarket control system. Unfortunately, this is these are the only way I know of to do it. Not easy, and I suggest you should take it
to a technician as this is not a job for a novice.
Too may problems could arise if done wrong.

Have a good day.

Answer
No this does not have a standard OEM alarm. It's tied into
the Vats/PASSLOCK II system. You will need to bypass the vats to bypass the "OEM" alarm See at www.passlockbypass.com .
There is no simple method of grounding or cutting
to bypass the factory system in a 96+ Camaro.
If it were that easy I would
have told you how and where to do it.
The only way to disarm these alarms is with the factory remote or, turning on the ignition.

To turn off the factory alarm you would need to energize the ignition wire remotely. This can be done by using a passlock II bypass module, with a remote starter.
This will energize the ignition wire, and thus disarm the "OEM" alarm.

That's all I can offer on it. May want to try the guys
at www.THE12VOLT.com for they're take on it.
Always good to get a second opinion.

Good luck with it.
