Car Alarms: How to Disable Alarm system, dash area, flip switch

Question
Thanks very much for the reply..
I am a software guy and no idea about this mechanical stuff.
So just asking another question-
Once I open the door with the key I got from Ford dealer I believe Alarm will sound continuously right till I disable using the procedure given by you..Worst scenario if I couldn't find valet/overide button, found under the dash area, then what will be my option as the alarm will sound continuosly once I open the door...Do you think the Alarm will go off once I close the door again..
If that may be the case then I can take risk and do it other wise I need to call someone Installer to do it to cut the wires after opening the bonnete of the car.
Do you think we can cut the wires that's coming to Alarm system from battery...
Does very alarm system has valet/overide button, found under the dash area or it varies for different devices....

Really appreciate for your help in this answer...

Thanks

Question -
I have a 1997 FordEscort LX and it has a after market Alarm system installed by a previous owner and I donot have any details about it. I lost my keys and remote and now I could get the key from the Ford Dealer but since Remote is after market they said better contact some outside guys who know about it..I don't know what to do to disable the alarm. I beleive if I open the door with the key I got from Ford dealer Alarm will start until I disable it.I don't know how to proceed and I am willing to disconnect wires if I have to.
Can you please help me out in this regard

Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid, and the siren chirps once.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in opposite direction,
key off.)

This should reset the alarm, and reset
the grounded relay on the starter wire,
allowing you to start it. At this point,
the only thing working would be
keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped. But since you
do not have a key chain remote, this
point is moot.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode. But I would'nt.

That should do it.
If you want to remove it at this point,
(suggested since you have no idea what's in there)
take it to your neighborhood installer
for this, or buy the wiring chart (www.wirewerx.com)
for the vehicle, and reverse engineer it wire
by wire, until safely removed.

Don't want to
get stuck in another bad situation, so I
strongly suggest you get a system
that will enhance your
security and keyless capabilities, because
this car is really easy to steal.

Good luck with it.
Let me know what happens.

So just asking another question-
Once I open the door with the key I got from Ford dealer I believe Alarm will sound continuously right till I disable using the procedure given by you..Worst scenario if I couldn't find valet/overide button, found under the dash area, then what will be my option as the alarm will sound continuosly once I open the door...Do you think the Alarm will go off once I close the door again.<<<YES, THE SYSTEM HAS A PROCEDURE TO IT. THE ALARM WOULD STILL BE
ENGUAGED WITH THE DOOR OPEN OR CLOSED
UNLESS YOU OVERIDE IT. IF THIS AN AFTERMARKET ALARM
YOU WOULD NEED TO GET IT TO AN INSTALL SHOP ASAP TO
REMOVE IT IF NO VALET IS AVAILABLE.

If that may be the case then I can take risk and do it other wise I need to call someone Installer to do it to cut the wires after opening the bonnete of the car.
Do you think we can cut the wires that's coming to Alarm system from battery.<<<NO, ALARMS ARE INSTALLED UNDER THE DASH IN MOST CASES, SIMPLY REMOVING AND RESTORING THE BATTERY WILL NOT STOP THE ALARM FROM DOING IT'S JOB.

Does very alarm system has valet/overide button, found under the dash area or it varies for different devices<<<IN 95% OF AFTERMARKET ALARMS, YES A VALET IS INCLUDED FOR OVERIDE, AND FOR PROGRAMING NEW TRANSMITTERS / ANTI-HIJACK DISABLING ETC... IT IS A MULTIFUNCTION BUTTON. WITHOUT
IT, YOU WILL SIMPLY HAVE TO REMOVE THE ALARM BRAIN FROM
IT'S HARNESSES AND REPLACE.

SORRY THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU WANTED TO HEAR, BUT IT
IS WHAT YOU NEEDED TO KNOW.
