Car Alarms: UltraStart 2-way remote, jeep grand cherokee, countdown time

Question
I just had UltraStart model 3365 installed into my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee.  For now, I opted to not hook up door locks...just went with "starting features".  I am trying to understand whether the remote is working correctly.  After remote-started, once you turn the key in the ignition, shouldn't the remote "shut off"?  Mine continues to show the key icon, and on the next remote start, it will start the vehicle, but the "countdown" time does not come on, allowing you to know for sure that the vehicle started.  In order to clear the remote of the icon, I have to actually hold the shutdown button.  Do you think this is a "wire" problem or a faulty remote?  Thank you.

Answer
The remote starter needs to see the ignition
turned on manually to disengage the remote starter.
In this case. there are 2.

It appears your installer may have missed the
2 wires need here in the Jeep. This vehicle
has 1 ignition and 2 accessory wires.
Your guy missed one of the acc wires.

SECOND ACCESSORY|red/blk |+|ignition harness
Both wires must be powered for remote start.

Go back and tell him to add the 2nd ignition.

Good luck with it.
