Question -
The other day, I put my key into the drivers side door to unlock my car. The alarm went off and would not stop. I had to pull the fuse for the horn to stop the noise. My car will not start-as if the alarm is still triggered.

How can I untrigger it so my car will start?

Is there away to disable it all together?

Answer -
Nope sorry, not factory. This is an aftermarket
system with starter kill. Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid, and the siren chirps once.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in opposite direction,
key off.)

This should reset the alarm, and remove
the ground output to the starter, allowing
you to start it. The only thing now working
would be keyless entry at this point from
the alarm, if it came equipped.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.

That should do it.
If you want to remove it at this point,
take it to your neighborhood installer
for this, or buy the wiring chart for
the vehicle, and reverse engineer it wire
by wire, until it's safely removed.

If it does not work out this way, you will have
to replace the system with one you know how
to operate and what to expect.

Let me know what happens.

I haven't had a chance to try that yet. It sounds rather easy, that makes me eager to try. BUT, I could be wrong, although the reason I feel its factory is b/c the red indicator light that blinks on my door next to the door lock. There is also a red blinking security light on my factory stereo. Everything seems so well arranged, like it was made that way - Just an observation thus far though.

Also, you stated  the siren will chirp once. I had to disconnect the horn- the fuse in the box, otherwise it will continue to go off (4 days now nonstop now). So, I am not sure how to go about doing that. Should I bypass this and really concentrate on looking for that light to go solid?

One more thing, the on/off valet-toggle switch. There actually should be a button somewhere underneath my dash?

Thank you so much for helping me, I so appreciate it, I am eager to hear your responses once again.

Answer
Allright, lets say this is the factory alarm,
Try this. put the key in the drivers door,
turn all the way left, then all the way right.
This might reset the factory system.
If this fails, locate the
FACTORY ALARM DISARM|green/black wire |-|
in the large harness to the left of fuse box,
splice a wire into it, then ground it to the
body of the car. This will permanantly disable
the factory system. You might loose some collateral
functions, but doubtfull. This should however
also turn off the LED lights. So it leaves
the car vulnerable at this point. Just
keep that in mind.

Try the first solution, then if no joy,
do the latter application.

I hope this helps.
