Car Alarms: DEI Hornet, honda accord coupe, alpine headunit

Question
I have a 5 speed manual. How does this affect your system with regards to remote starting. Also I have heard of a guy who has the same car as me with a honda S2000 push button start in his manual car. What issues do we face if I did that, or should I just leave it stock with regards to your remote starter?

I obvioulsy have heard of DEI, Viper, Clifford, blah, blah, but have never heard of a Galaxy 5100 T RSW 2WAY combo. Is there any history behind it? Do you guys manufacture it yourselves? How long has it been around and where can I research it. I did read your article regarding popular alarms and marketing.

Also, where are you located? I am in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Do you suggest having someone who does alarm installation do this for me?
My background: I have successfully and cleanly installed a system with Alpine headunit JL Audio component speakers, sub and JL amplifier in my other car, a '98 Honda accord coupe and will be doing so in this Prelude. I own a recording studio where I have done all wiring and a good deal of sodering of wires however, I am not a mechanic who knows that much about a cars electrical system indepth and all functions of this alarm MUST work properly.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Question -
Hello,

I have just purchased a 95 Honda Prelude with a DEI Hornet installed. It seems to be an older model as it has a square two button remote. Anyway, I wanted to know if you guys felt this to be a GREAT alarm. Reason being is that I want the BEST possible system protecting the car as it has an expensive engine swap. I understand that an alarm is a deterrent only, but I would like to make sure that I have the best possible deterrent that I can. What would be your suggestion? I forgot to ask the seller what model number of the hornet it is as well as where the control unit is (hopefully and dash install as you guys recommed. I did not see it in the engine bay)

The alarm is equipped with starter kill, keyless entry (he disconnected it fearing he might unlock it by mistake) glass break and shock sensors. What are your thoughts, what can I add to make it better? There are dealers here.

Thanks in advance for you time and advice. I really appreciate it.

That alarm is limited in range, features and
convenience that you can replace/upgrade
and really do it right.

Nice vehicle, but yes it
does need a decent system to
protect & enhance it that is a bit
more refined then a Hornet 2 channels
system.

I have a couple of solid suggestions
that would do very well for interfacing
properly to this specific vehicle.

My WIREWERX.com site will
provide The notes on this vehicle for FREE
and will send them along with a suggested
list of relays, and accessories to do the
job correclty the first time, if you decide
to purchase the system here.

Now let's see...
I'll offer my second choice first.
A very good system here would be,

USER-FRIENDLY: Unlike many two-way remote starters
on the market, the Razor line is very user-friendly.
The LCD display is easy to read, the buttons are marked
with clear symbols and the remote provides communication
with your vehicle and audible confirmation of
button activations.

2-WAY LCD REMOTE: The nicest feature of Razor's
2-WAY SERIES of Remote Starters is the LCD remote.
Never again will you need to guess if your vehicle
actually started or if you remembered to lock your doors!
This Remote's Dynamic Indigo Backlit display illustrates
the status of your vehicle via a visual LCD display
and audible tones. You will be able to see if the engine
is running, if the alarm is triggered, if the doors are
locked, and if the cold weather timer mode is activated.
This cutting edge remote even comes complete with a clock!

Siren to warn even the boldest of thieves. There is
a Buit in Dual Stage Impact Sensor to detect tampering,
a Starter Disable Protection System to prevent vehicle theft,

or "If it were me..."
....my choice of "BEST" system here is

Most flexable installation design

Keep in mind that the best thing here
in my opinion is the comfort of
the 2 way pager.
This way you know it's YOUR car.
Not some random siren going off outside,
but YOURS!

Either way you would
still get starter kill, flashing lights,
2 remotes, domelight monitoring, 6 tone siren,
2 stage impact sensor and more.

You can also add an interior/exterior microwave
sensor to detect movement. This completes the
overall security needs I would think.

Have a look and let me know what I can
do for you. We'll get you squared away
in no time.

Answer
Have a look at the new 5100 system at www.scytek.net .
They are designed and assembled in LA.

You can most certainly do this in the Prelude.
(when ordering, please keep in mind the manual
transmission verision is 25.00 more to accomodate the
clutch bypass circuitry.

On the remote start, obviously we do not advocate
installation into a manual trans. vehicles due
to improper usage and installation. If installed
wrong, you can do damage to anything or on in
front of the vehicle when you go to start it.
And yes, you need a high amperage push button
exactly like the s2000's to do this in the Prelude.

That being said, it is simply ON YOU.

If remote start is not for you, I would have you opt
for the SCYTEK 7E7 or 7T7 systems for best
in car security for the PRELUDE.

My offices are located in N. Tampa Fl.
But I do have a guy in Greensboro if that is
close to you who installs my products so that
option is available to you if you don't want
to try it.

Have a look at the Scytek site, and then get back
to me if you want to order for this project.

Be well.
