I have a hawk car alarm installed in my truck, it was installed when i recieved it, i am curious as to what the 4 dip switches and the jumper that are located under the removable cover i am not sure what model the unit is, also i have two remotes for this unit one seems to work but doesnt respond to the unit since i had the battery unhooked for a week or so can you help me at all with this problem? it is installed in a 1991 ford ranger 4.0L

Sorry, but as you probably surmised,
Hawk is no longer made. But it sounds like the transmitter lost programming when it was powered down. I do not know the procedures for this system to re prog. the remotes however, You can try www.remotesunlimited.com to see if
you can get this info, but I don't know that it's going
to be worth it to you.

When all is said and done, you
will have spent upwards for 65.00 to replace the remotes
with newer ones, and still will not know what the alarm
is capable of.

No my best suggestion is take the same
money you are planning to "shore up" the old Hawk system,
and get a new one you can install yourself, and understand
from the beginning. Makes for a better, safer experience all the way around.

That's my take on it. Of course you might want
to keep using this alarm. If so, good luck to you with that,
and check out remotes unlimited to start your hunt.

Have a good one.

what would you suggest as far as an alarm? i would like to have a 2 way alarm w/pager unit, i will be putting a microwave sensor inside to detect movement inside and out, i would prefer a loud siren, also level sensor for the hood, i have a lot of money tied into this truck as far as tires go and the stereo so i would like for it to go off whenever it is bothered

Answer
ok, have a look at www.pagingalarm.com .
There is a system there for all needs.
Add a motion sensor for 36.99 to your
choice and you have what you'll need
to do it right.

"if it were me"?
I like the ASTRA 7E7 system here.
The 777 is great, but I like the flexabilty
of the 7E7 and the built in starter kill.

If you want remote start, look at the
those on page 2 at www.pagingalarm.com

Let me know what you think.
