Car Alarms: Battery check engine light, clifford alarm, battery check

Question
My clifford alarm has not worked on my 1995 Mustang for a year or so.  I am in the process of selling the car, so I decided to completely remove the alarm.  I removed all of the wiring, the siren, and sensors in the engine bay and trunk.  I also removed the electronics from underneath the dash, and I suspect that is where my problem is.  There were 4-6 connections where the alarm installer had spliced into the existing Ford wires.  I simply removed the alarm wires, and re-connected the original Ford wires.  I could easily tell which wires needed to be connected because they were all color-coded.

My problem is that when I connect the battery to the pos. & neg. wires, my battery check engine light comes on in the dash.  The car starts and runs fine, and the light turns off as soon as I turn the key on.  But, once I turn the car off again, the light comes on.

Any suggestions?

Answer
No not really short of having Ford
reset the system through the diagnostic.
It seems to not be getting the sensor trigger.

It is not something that you could correct or
that you actually could change it on your own,
so rather then playing with the onboard computer,
just run it over to the Ford dealer and do
a diagnostic/reset.

Tell me what they find.
Interesting question.
