Car Alarms: My alarm is acting up..., brain box, chirp

Question
Recently I got a new remote to use with my alarm because the alarm is becoming much less responsive when I press any of the buttons. I have to be within 10 feet to activate any functions where as I use to be able to be up to 100 feet away. Also, when my car chirps, it is very suttle, not the loud normal chirp. What is causing this and how can I fix it? Also, I thought it would be my car battery, not so its fresh and tests show its excellent. Thank you for your time.

Answer
I would first move the brain box and attatched antenna
to improve the range. If no joy, I would
then replace it. Sounds like electronic
fatigue and it just might be time to move
into another system for the best level of
security & convenience possible.

Just a guess, but after a time, it does
behoove you to replace these things for optimum
performance.

Try moving it around first to see if it helps.

Good luck.
