Car Alarms: Having trouble starting car becasue car alarm, dash area, flip switch

Question
I have an interceptor car alarm that came with my used car. I have used 2 different remotes with new batteries. When I open my car, the alarm goes off and wont let me start my car. I dont believe its the battery because the air conditioning and the all the lights in the car work. Underneath the steering wheel, there is a switch that turns on-red or off-black and right to the switch is there blinking led. Any suggestions?

Answer
It appears you lost programing on the remotes.
You need to contact interceptor to get programming
instruction for that.

Until then try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area comes on solid. Since
your valet switch is the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.

This should be valet. This overides
the starter kill relay in the alarm harness,
and returns the car back to disarmed mode.

The only thing that will work now on your system,
is the keyless entry if installed.

Just Repeat these steps to rearm your system.

That should do it.

Then locate the re programming info
for your transmitter to use the alarm
functions again.

Let me know what happens.
