Hi my name is joshua, and i have 1993 toyota camry xle with what i believe to be a factory toyota car alarm. The electronic control unit got wet during a rain storm 2 days ago and now the alarm goes off randomly even while i'm driving the car, i tried to put the alarm in valet mode and it still happens. Right now i'm at school and i can't get it fixed until later this week, is there any way to turn off the alarm and still have the car start.

Any information would be excellent

Thank you

Joshua
Answer -
Joshua,
The water cause a signal short and
is now always transmitting.

Undo the back of the remote(aftermarket.
no factory systems in older toyotas)
and pop out the battery. Let dry completely
(couple of days) then try again. Once you
remove the battery, put the system into
valet so nothing is working and the LED is on solid
until you get the remote dry. If no luck then,
you can either get a new remote by using the
FCC ID# on the back, or upgrade now to a better,
warrantied system that will do a much better job.
(nice sale right now at www.PAGINGALARM.COM !)

Good luck with it.

Thanks for the information, but i must have explained myself wrong, the actual box under my driverside set got wet, not the remote, it controls the class breakage adjustment, and E.Delay. The remote still works, any information on how to make it stop going of ramdaomly such as a fuse or anything would be great.
Thank you
Joshua

Answer
Same thing. If wet, then it's cross circuiting and
you will have to dry it out. Obviously, this
should NEVER get wet. I can replace the brain for
the 8007 for 63.00, and you can reprogram the
transmitters, but try to dry it out, then try
plugging it in later in the week. Take
apart the brain box, the blowdry it for awhile
to speed up the process, or copy the link below
to get a replacement sent right away.
