Car Alarms: car alarm, gm passlock, alarmtek

Question
jsut bought a 97 sunfire...it was damaged when i bought it...and i had to replace the computer.  It came equipped with the executive 3000 keyless entry and security system, but no keytag buttons to unlock it...i only got the ignition key with it.  when i unlock and open the doors the damn alarm goes off...when i put the key in the ignition the car will turn over but not start...could the alarm still be armed after i put the key in and turn it...or is the car not starting perhaps an unrelated problem...it has a security light on the dash that lights up when you try to turn the car over...and the headlight light...(perhaps highbeam light) continues to flash when the key is on...ive tried the valet switch but cannot get working...im down to the point that i wiould like to disconnect the system from the car altogether to eliminate this option as a problem....the wiring is as follows...

aux plug
door lock

orange = starter
gray = trunk
yellow = 12 v access
black = ground
red = +12 Volts

pink = horn
green = door
blue = trig
violet = door
brown = siren
white = lights
wht/blk = dome light
wht/blk = dome light
battery backup
led light
valet switch

there are also 3 switches inside it

sw 1 = start lock
sw 2 = passive lock
sw 3 = 12v sensing

please help meeeeee

derek

Answer
Sounds as if the GM PASSLOCK system is to blame here
not the aftermarket system. You need to take
it to the local GM dealer to have them reset it
for you. If it were the Executive, it would
use the siren, not the horn, and the parking lights
not the headlights.

No, the issue is in the factory alarm system

Good luck with it. It's something
unfortunately that I can't help you with.

Sorry.
