Car Alarms: Engine start w/ Viper alarm, viper security system, acura rsx

Question
Hello. I recently bought a Viper security system for my 2002 Acura RSX. It is the system with the 2Way remote and such features as engine start and what not (model 791xv I believe). My problem is that when I use the remote to start my engine, then turn it off via the remote, a couple of hours later the car seems to turn on by itself. I randomly hear the familiar sound from my remote a few hours later and the engine turns on all by itself. This has happened a few times and luckily I caught it right away as it was parked in my garage. I also noticed that if I use the remote start to start my car, and then proceed to drive it, everything is fine and the car does not turn on by itself later on that day. However, if I use the remote to just start the car and turn it back off, it seems to want to turn back on every couple of hours. Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer
Wish I could explain it, but I do not
sell or install they're equipment.

I suggest you contact your DEI dealer to go over
the abnormal behavior. It may be set up on a timer
that you are not aware of. In any event, it's
better to have the install technician that did
the job, explain it's functions to your understanding,
and modify it as needed.

Sorry,

Good luck with it.
