Car Alarms: Disable or uninstall viper, wire colors, bmer

Question
I purchased a 1987 BMW at a Goodwill Auction. The baterry lasted about 2 days, and when we replaced it the alarm was continuously going off and would not allow vehicle to start. It will turn over but no firing. I assumed the alarm had been deactivated or something when we got the car. We did not get a clicker or anything except ignition key. Their is a small switch under dash at the knees and by turning the key to on and then changing the switch the light went to solid and has stayed that way. (I got the instructions from some of the other people problems you had answered to get the light to the solid state)But the car will still not start. I do not want the alarm, I just want the car to work. Take out or totally disarm is where I want to go. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer
You would need the wiring specific to the BMW you
have to remove the wires correctly, and also
remove the starter kill relay inline on the
starter wiring under the dash.

Go to www.wiringcharts.com when you are ready,
to get the chart for this car. It will
show you the wire colors/locations & polarities
to reverse engineer this one.

Once done, I would replace it with one you do
understand and can warranty. If not, you
are just inviting trouble. This year BMER
does not have a factory alarm to worry about
for a thief so they are drawn to it.

Good luck with it.
