Question -
I have purchased a salvage vehicle that i am putting back on the road...a 1997 sunfire...it came equipped with the executive 3000 alarm and remote door etc system...i only have the key for the car, not the remote unit.  and of course the alarm is set.  The car will only turn over and will not start, im not even sure if i will want to put it on the road until i hear the engine run, how do i disengage this system so that i can get the car running?
Answer -
Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area in most cases,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area comes on solid.

This should be valet. This overides
the starter kill relay in the alarm harness,
and returns the car back to disarmed mode.

The only thing that will work now on your system,
is the keyless entry if installed.

Just Repeat these steps to rearm your system.

That should do it.

Replacement transmitters are 63. +s&h per pair.
(sold only in pairs) If you want a set,
copy cut n paste the following

and programing info:

I can see no button...the only unit i see is a small black box with a bunch of wires running to it...how much trouble is it to just remove it from the car? there is a four wire switch on one side of it, with a power a 12v access, a ground, and a starter wire i think...can i simply cross couple of these wires to make it work?...id sooner have it out of the car altogether if it was simple...

thanks so much for the quick response....you da bomb!

Answer
Hmmmm, sounds like you have the alarm brain there.
But no, unfortunately it's not that easy.
(If it were cars with alarms would get stolen alot!)
However, not too bad really. You need to drop the
under panel under the steering column fish out the
brain box, unplug all wiring going to it, then
try all the car's normal functions. If all looks
nominal, then you are good to go. If not, there
may be some wiring aspects you may need to address
to get the Sunfire back up to speed.

No valer/override switch somewhere under the dash of
anykind huh? Thats odd. Get up under there again and
look for a button or switch that is out of the ordinary.
