Car Alarms: starter kill not working, honda dash, michael arnold

Question
Hi once again,

I finally completed the installation of our Astra 777 alarm in my daughters 1990 Honda Accord (it took me so long because I only have access to her car when she is home from college).

Everything appears to operate correctly except the starter kill function. I installed the relay between the starter wire BLK/WHT as described and connected the relay orange wire to the main unit orange wire. When I disarm the system, get into the car and try to crank the starter, all Honda dash functions work properly, but the starter does not crank. If I disconnect the cut key to starter wire from the relay and reconnect this ignition wire, the car starts normally. I checked for voltage between the orange wire and ground (while the system is disarmed) and got a reading of 0 volts.

Can you provide assistance to troubleshoot this problem?
thank you,
Michael Arnold

Hi again,
Thank you for the timely response to my initial questions. Very helpful.

I can't locate several of the 1990 Honda Accord wires for connection to the "brain".

Can you provide any additional advice on where the BLK/WHT door trigger and ORG/Silver trunk trigger wires are located. I am trying to find the grey plug right of the column, and have no success. Are many wires in this plug or only these two?

Also, I have looked in several locations for the door power lock (BLK/WHT) and door power unlock (ORG) wires, but can't locate them.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
thank you,
Michael Arnold

I am following the Astra 777 installation instructions that you provided (for a 1990 Honda Accord)and have a few simple questions:
1. Do I connect both the Honda door trigger (blk/wht)and trunk trigger (org/slv) wires to the Aastra green (-) output wire?

2.Do I connect the Honda power lock wire (blk/wht) to the Astra (-) lock output and the Honda power unlock 0rg(-) negative trigger to the Astra 777 blue (-) unlock output? The words negative trigger in these instructions are a little confusing to me.
thanks, Michael

Question is shown below
I am following the Astra 777 installation instructions that you provided (for a 1990 Honda Accord)and have a few simple questions:
1. Do I connect both the Honda door trigger (blk/wht)and trunk trigger (org/slv) wires to the Aastra green (-) output wire?<<<NO, GREEN TO DOOR TRIGGER, BLUE TO TRUNK TRIGGER (ORANGE SILVER DOTS.) VIOLET IS NOT USED HERE.

2.Do I connect the Honda power lock wire (blk/wht) to the Astra (-) lock output and the Honda power unlock 0rg(-) negative trigger to the Astra 777 blue (-) unlock output? The words negative trigger in these instructions are a little confusing to me.<<<<<<YES YOU HAVE IT CORRECT MICHAEL. THE DOOR LOCKS IN THE ACCORD NEED A CHASSIS
GROUND PULSE. THE GREEN AND BLUE DO THIS FOR YOU.
ANYTHING ELSE THAT TROUBLES YOU ON THIS ONE?
LET ME KNOW.

Ok, try locating the door locks like this
POWER LOCK|black/white  |-|lower drivers kick under carpet
POWER UNLOCK|black/red  |-|lower drivers kick "   "   "

Then alternatively, the door trigger (dome light)
can also be found as black/white|-| in
the brown plug to the left of steering column,
and the TRUNK/HATCH PIN is also found as a
green/black|-| wire in the green plug left
of steering column.

Good hunting.

Answer
hmmm, odd.
should be cut the black/white wire off the
ignition harness in half, the car will not start.

Then if using a prewired socket, red goes to
the key side of the cut wire, white to the
other side of the black/white wire,
and orange from the alarm, to orange
on the socket.

Done.

If not using a pre wired socket, then it
is as follows

cut black/white wire.

pin 87 not used.
pin 85 and 87a on the relay go to the key side
pin 30 to the motor side of the wire
orange to pin 86

Done.

Try again to see if you might
have mssed something.
