Car Alarms: REMOTE CONTROL RELAY, bosch relay, dunebuggy

Question
I'm trying to wire a remote to a couple of items on a dunebuggy.  I tested the remote by wiring to a standard 30 amp auto Bosch relay  and a parking light as follows:

#30 positive 12 volt input direct from battery
#86 negative ground direct from battery
#85 direct from remote 500ma
#87 to a test light positive with the negative side of light going direct to battery

I'm not getting the relay to activate when I push the remote key.
When the remote button is pushed the wire from the remote going to #85 produces a reading of 589 or .59 depending on which setting my test meter is on, but it doesn't activate the relay.

To test if I have the wiring done correctly I have bypassed the remote and gone directly from the battery to the #85 on the relay and everything works fine.

Is it possible that the remote electrical signal of 589 is not enough to activate the relay switch?

Any other suggestions/questions/ etc.

I'm also an allexperts volunteer in the computer program EXCEL area.
Thanks

Answer
Evening Richard.
   It's possible, but I don't think
the ground from the Battery would be enough
umph here. Put pin 86 direct to the chassis
and see if that does the trick. The rest looks correct.

Let me know what the attempted application is so
I can review the work, and maybe supply anpther
solution.
