Car Alarms: Unknown Alarm, toyota prado, dash area

Question
I  purchased a 2000 model Toyota Prado that had an alarm fitted. Everytime I disarm it it chirps four times. The toyota dealer says it is not a factory fitted alarm and cannot help me. On the front of the alarm unit is UPG-301. Inside on the circuit board is AM301 Rev C. There is a sticker on the back with PG30100000BWA. The processor chip has a sticker with AM302B5AASM. Any ideas on who made it? I have no other info but can send pictures if required.

Answer
Allen,
I don't know the numbers you sent, but
try www.remotesunlimited.com to see if you can match
it up. From the sounds of it, I would hazzard a guess
though.

The system is seeing an open circuit, or in
this case, REPORTING on a circuit that was opened
while it was armed.

My first suggestion is to reset the system if
at all possible. Look under the dash area for an
aftermarket button or switch. This would be
valet overide. If a push button type, try this:

Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area in most cases,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area comes on solid.
(If it's a toggle-type-on/off switch, follow
the same procedure, but flip switch in oposite
direction).

This should be valet. This overides
the starter kill relay in the alarm harness,
and returns the car back to disarmed mode.

The only thing that will work now on your system,
is the keyless entry if installed.

Just Repeat these steps to rearm your system.

That should do it.

I hope either suggestion helps to solve
this for you.

Cheers.
