Car Alarms: Remote Starter will not work, chevy impala, joe washington

Question
I have a 2001 chevy impala and I bought a RS-560 Car Alarm, Remote Starter Combo. Everything is hooked up correctly and working except the remote starter. When trying to remote start the car, it will not work. It will go through all the checks in starting the car, but the engine will not turn over. The voltage going to the wire is 12 volts, but the reading going to the ignition is showing only 2 volts. Could there be a problem with the "brain" unit? If so, I would like to exchange that part out.

Thank you,

Joe Washington

Answer
I'd say it's more likely that the trouble is
in the installation of the GM bypass module,
required in this vehicle to start the car remotely.

Go over it again, and if you have trouble, contact
Commando on Monday morning for they're advice on they're
equipment. 1 800 780-1409.

If you have not installed the GN passlock bypass module
then obviously, there is the problem. You would
need to order and install it.

I carry them as well at www.PASSLOCKBYPASS.com
for 25.00

I hope this helps.
