Car Alarms: keyless entryu on a 1998 acura integra, intega, acura integra

Question
i have installed an alarm in my car with keyless entry. it will lock but wo'nt unlock. where should i start to toubleshoot the problem. i did notice that there was already an alarm in the car and used the wires they had tapped into.

Answer
I see you tried tapping into the exsisting
wiring, but did you check to see if it's
connected to the unlock wire in the integra?

Look for a black/red wire in the Intega,
at the drivers side kick area.
In the larger of two attached gray
plugs in the low near the firewall.

If equipped with cruise control, the plugs
are behind the module. To access, remove the
lower bolt on the bracket holding the module
and pull it up out of the way. The lock wires
test only with the passenger lock and unlock switch,
but to test, simply ground your test light to the body
of the car, and then proble the unlock wire directly.
Once you tap ground to this wire, it will unlock the
doors. Just take the keyless entry unlock (-) wire,
and attatch ti it directly.

If using crimp connectors,
throw them out, and splice in to the wire,
copper to copper, for the tightest connection
without soldering.

That should take care of that. The normall culprit
here, if you already did all af this is in the
connectors used. The Crimp types are almost
always found to be the trouble. Chuck them, and
go wire to wire. Better off.

Let me know what you find.

Good luck.
