Car Alarms: RE: Kill starter alarm, nissan 300zx, dash area

Question

It is the original system that came with the car. It is part of the car! It does not have a remote
pad. Normally, the alarm is turned off by using the door key. We have never had a problem where
the car wouldn't start due to the alarm.
Thank you!!!
Thanks!!

HI,
Happy to find you!!! My parents have a Nissan 300ZX 1985. It
suddenly went dead and apparently the problem is the alarm
system. It has a "kill starter" manufacturers alarm. What can we
do to start the car!!!! Disarm the alarm? It tries to start, but the
engine does not turn over. It sounds like it is out of gas as it
tries to start.
Answer -
Hmmmm, it's an aftermarket system so I may not
be right. But before I advise, please tell me
does the alarm have remotes? You know with
arm disarm/ lock/unlock when you press the button?
If so I can help. If not, the system you have would
require a technician get up under the dash and
remove the device. Simple really, but would be required
if this is any other type of immobilizer system.

If it is indeed a remote controlled car alarm,
see if you can locate a button or switch under
the dash. Then try this.

Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area in most cases,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area comes on solid.

This should be valet. This overides
the starter kill relay in the alarm harness,
and returns the car back to disarmed mode.

The only thing that will work now on your system,
is the keyless entry if installed.

Just Repeat these steps to rearm your system.

That should do it.

If not, then you really will need to contact
a local installer for help. With these
types of systems, because they usually come with a
"code" key of somesort. I can't tell you at
that point, how to reset it without inspecting it
in person. Sorry

Let me know what happens.

Answer
Ok, then normally it's put the key in the
drivers door, turn all the way to the left first,
then to the right. That would send a neg
pulse to the factory disarm wire, allowing it
to rest the alarm system. If this does not
work, then permanantly disable the factory
alarm by opening up the kick panel on the
drivers side. Then locate the
FACTRY ALARM DISARM|red/blue |-|, if not
in this location, then the factory theft module
located under the passenger seat will also
contain this wire in the harness.

Once located, then splice a wire into it,
(same size) and ground it to the metal
body of the car. In the kick panel is fine.

That will do it for good.
No more surprizes. But be advised,
that once completely disabled, your car
is TOO easy to rip off. Protect it
with something you can control.

Have a nice one.
Good luck with it.
