I have a 2000 Toyota Camry with the factory installed alarm, it only has the kill switch and and panic button on the keyless remote system, I would like to upgrade it to something with a detector for motion ( window breaking), Can you recommend a good alarm for replacement.
Answer -
Sur can. I like the ASTRA 777 paging alarm fro this
project. Lot's of range, and you know it's your
car that's being tampered with. Comes with
a 2 stage impact sensor, and is pretty easy
to install.

Go to www.AUTOPAGER.com or, www.PAGINGALARM.com
to have a look at the features and
pricing for this one. I do these everyday
in my shop here, and it has become my #1 seller.

I hope this helps.

Ah. The Micro 6008 can be used here then and
has the capabilities needed. Add a 2 stage motion
sensor (it comes with a 2 stage impact sensor already)
and there you have it.  This system runs 69.00 and
a microwave motion sensor is 36.00.

If you like, I can send you a link to get all?

Let me know.

Answer
The difference in this case is
the 2 stage shock/impact detects vibration
and triggers warn away then trigger on a hard
impact.

Motion detect movement inside of it's 180 degree
field and is better in the fact that it won't
faulse as easily as a shock sensor because
it's a more defined sensor for "snatch n grab"
defence and won't be set off by a passing
truck, motorcycle or, thunderstorm.
