Car Alarms: auto alarm, viper car alarm, dash area

Question
I have a viper car alarm on a dodge ram I bought used, with no manual for the alarm. (no remote either)  I had to unhook the battery, and when I hooked it back up, the alarm started going off.  How do I disable it?  I know it has something to do with some sequence of turning the ignition key and pushing down on the brake, or something like that.

btw, if it helps, the truck is a 1997 model, and I believe the alarm would be too.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Answer
Ok, I don't sell Vipers, but try this.
Look under the dash area, maybe to the left
foot area in the plastic, for a button/switch
that does not look like the OEM factory equipment.

Now put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the button until
the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area comes on solid.

This should be valet. This overides the alarm
system and alows you to bypass it until needed.
If installed, the starter kill relay
in the alarm harness, will disengage,
stop's the siren too, and returns the car back
to disarmed mode.

The only thing that will work now on your system,
is the keyless entry if installed.

Just Repeat these steps to rearm your system.

But I would remove this alarm and put in
one you understand for the best experience.
No telling what it capable or
not capable of, or the calibur of
installation performed.
Better safe.............

Let me know what happens.
