Car Alarms: I Bought a truck, it has an alarm, but i dont know how to use it., alpine usa, alpine equipment

Question
I just Bought a 97 Dodge Dakota and when i got the keys for it their were two alarm remote's with it, the remotes say Alpine Electronics on them and on the back it says that it is Canadian and was made in 1998, i replaced the battery in the remote and when i hold down the button the alarm sounds. Their is a Little LED on my dash that seems to be sound sensitive, but my question is how do i arm this alarm? i have tried pushing the button then i go pound on my trucks windows and the led blinks when i make a lot of noise but i cant get the alarm to sound. Thier is also a second button on the remote that says EXT on it, could i make this button operate a remote start? The big button says EXT/Panic. The model number on the remote is 8426A. Thanks For The Help.

Answer
Sorry, but I am unfamiliar with Alpine equipment,
and less informed on they're canadian counterparts.
I wish I could help, but try the forum for
security sense at www.sounddomain.com
I just remmembered a group of ALPINE enthusiests
hang over there. You might get lucky with
one of them. Finally, go the ALPINE site
http://www.alpine-usa.com/ to see if they
can help too.

Good hunting
