Car Alarms: 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alarm, jeep grand cherokee, grand cherokee

Question
The battery on my 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee went dead.  After recharging and reconnecting it, it wouldn't start.  I could hear a clicking noise when the ignition was in the on position.  So I reset the remote.  It still wouldn't start.  Have you any suggestions?

Answer
You have a starter disable relay inline. If resetting
the alarm's remotes did not work (the alarm dpes not respond to the remotes) then you
1. may need to reprogram the remotes according to the alarms instructions.
2. you would need to remove the starter kill relay
if you can not reprogram the transmitters to
disengage the relay.
3. Get a new alarm system. One that you understand,
and can bypass if need be.

I would start by getting the alarm manual
(sorry, not supplied here.) and reprogram the remotes,
not just "reset" the alarm. Obviously, when
you lost power, the transmitters lost programming.
It happens on older alarms alot.

Good luck with it.
