Car Alarms: Aftermarket Car Starter, alarm starter, unit thanks

Question
Is there anyway I can "trick" the alarm.

1. For example, Can I relay the power or the ground of the alarm with the starter so just before remote start or unlock the alarm will lose power.

or
2. Can I somehow hook up the valet switch (programming switch) so that at the exact moment the car starts it will send the alarm to valet (and disable it)?

I am trying to figure out anything to avoid losing the money i just paid for the starter, and the hassle of wiring a new alarm/starter unit.

thanks much

Question -
My original remote from my alarm (checkmate brand) will disarm on unlock (chirp chirp) and arm on lock (chirp).

Okay I just installed a car starter in no problem. The car starts great. The only problem is that the new keyfob remote unlocks/locks the doors but it does not disarm the prexistining alarm (aftermarket checkmate alarm). So if I went to remote start the car the alarm would go off. Same if i unlocked the doors because it doesnt disarm 1st.

Any ideas?

Answer -
Pull the Checkmate. It will always conflict. You need a combo unit that does rem start and car alarm in the same unit. Without it, you would always need to disarm the Checkmate first before remote starting the second unit.

Sorry, but there is no "relay" fix. You need one or the other, but both will definately conflict with the other.

Sorry, but that's the news.
