Car Alarms: Code-AlarmF50/F55 Will Not Remote Start, mercury sable, alarmtek

Question
QUESTION: We have a 2001 Mercury Sable with a F50/F55 Remote Start that was professionally installed when the vehicle was purchased new.  It worked OK up until recently.  Pushing both remote buttons causes the parking lights to flash and the heater blower motor to run but the engine does not crank and start.  If we put a key in the ignition but do not turn it, the engine will remote start.

ANSWER: The Transponder bypass kit you have in there has failed,
or simply was never installed.

This vehicle has the Ford PATS immobilizer in the
key and ignition. The bypass needed to circumvent
is the PKFM and will solve your issue.

I do realize it worked for a bit, and
that can happen, but the Ford security has
lost that ability and needs the bypass.

I'm about 99% sure that's the issue.

The bypass is 89.95 and available if
needed:

I hope this was helpful.
Merry Christmas!

QUESTION: Thanks for the quick response.  A model OM-FORD-1 transponder override is installed.  When the remote start system was installed, we had to provide a key to the installer.  Is it possible something happened to the key?  I have not looked to see where they installed the key.

Answer
Yes sir, the way it's installed is important
because it can be vibrated out of place
depending on if the installer used a transponder
bypass box, or simply bondo'd the key in place
and it's moved out of the ignition key
readers "sweet spot".

Have this inspected and reset so the key is
communicating the signal properly.

No relacement would be needed I think,
just tweeking.
