Car Stereos: amp/subwoofer

I have a 2006 hummer h3, replaced stereo and all 4 door speakers, ran remote wire from stereo to new amp, ground wire, power wire to my battery, unplugged factory monsoon amp, getting power to amp but nothing from subwoofers.  was I supposed to unplug the monsoon amp? or keep it plugged in and bypass?  I thought remote wire would be sufficient.

I'm a little confused about your setup.  

Is your new amplifier just driving the subwoofers, the front and rear speakers, or both?  And are you talking about after-market subwoofers, or the stock Monsoon sub?

Are your door speakers working properly? How did you bypass the Monsoon amplifier?

What are the brand and model numbers of your new head unit and amplifier?
