Car Stereos: Aftermarket radio install for 03 Envoy, radio sony, apple ipod

I recently installed an aftermarket radio (Sony 52W x 4 Apple® iPod®-/Satellite Radio-Ready In-Dash CD Deck) and used a gmos-04 with wiring harness to complete the install. The sound quality coming from it sounds awful. Turning it up halfway makes it sound like the speakers are going to blow and it is just barely audible as far as the volume is concerned. I don't know if it has the Bose system or not. Any advice on how to fix the sound issue?

Hi Joe,

That's a weird one -- you definitely bought the right adapter/harness for the install.

I'm wondering if maybe you missed the amp turn-on wire and your speakers are receiving essentially a low level signal, so it's very very quiet and distorted.
