Car Stereos: No power, dodge ram 1500, stock radio

I'm changing the head unit In a 2001 dodge ram 1500 and when i first pluged my after market wire harness to the stock radio plug i had power so i unplugged them and tried to put both plugs from the truck into the second wire harness plug and when i did i lost all power to the head unit and dome light neither fuse is blown put there is no power to the fuse at all what could be the problem

Hi Dustin,

Sorry to contradict you, but you definitely blew a fuse.  If you lost power and the dome light went too, you blew a fuse.  Some vehicles have more than one fuse performing the same function.  One under the hood, and one in the dash somewhere.  Make sure you test both.  And don't check by just looking at them.  Test with a multimeter.  Sometimes a fuse looks OK when it's actually blown.
