Car Stereos: radio sound, alpine radio, internal amplifier

Two weeks ago i installed a alpine radio ,and it was working good.Now i have no sound, i still have power but no voice what would you do to fix it Thank YOU Jim

Hi Jim,

There are so many things that could cause your issue.

The first thing I'd check would be a bad speaker or connection to one.  Most aftermarket radios have built-in amplifier protection.  They will turn off their internal amplifiers if any of the speakers hooked up to the deck provide the incorrect resistance.  This can happen when a speaker blows up or if a wire touches something it shouldn't.

You could also check the back of the Alpine deck.  Some decks have independent fuses in them that control the internal amplifier.  If this has died, you could lose sound.

You could simply have a fried deck, aswell.
