Car Stereos: No sound after install of Stereo/DVD player., ford freestar, pin harness

I recently installed an after market stereo/DVD unit in my 2004 Ford Freestar. I have power to the unit but no sound. I followed instructions connecting all wires from factory 24 pin plug. The vehicle has a 16 pin plug (that was attached to the Factory stereo/CD unit) that has wires that the installation instructions do no indicate where they go to attach to the aftermarket unit. I am assuming they are to a factory AMP and that is why I have no sound. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Scott,

To the best of my knowledge, the 04 Freestar didn't have an amplifier as an option.

The harness for your van should be this one:

If there was another harness in your deck that this isn't accounting for, then you're probably on the right track to it being more hardware that wasn't accounted for.

Can you get a picture of the 16 pin harness, upload it to imageshack, or to this service, and ask me a followup question so I can see if I can help you figure it out?
