hi justin. I had a factory cd player in my 02 tahoe and wanted to put in an aftermarket cd player that was in my 98 z71 truck. i bought a scoche quick connect plug to install the cd player. i color coded all of the wires and soldered them and taped. all of the lights and all functions work on cd player but no sound comes out of my speakers. i thought somethin was wrong with my speakers so i re-installed th factory head unit and speakers work fine. so i unpluged the factory and plugged back in the aftermarket and guess what? no sound out of the speakers at all. LEASE HELP ME im at a loss here. the aftermarket is fine b/c i re-installed it in truck and speakers work fine. Please help me out here. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED      THANK YOU, Larry

Answer
Hi Larry,

The 2002 Tahoe had a whole bunch of options involving the stereo.  Onstar, no Onstar, Bose, no Bose, and factory subwoofer option.

Based on all of that, it's possible that you have a unit where there is an external amplifier, and you need an extra harness, or an extra wire hooked up to tell that factory amplifier to turn on so sound comes out.

Go to http://www.crutchfield.com/ and enter your vehicle information.  Then click on 'view installation gear' and make sure you have the integration harnesses/adapters you need for your car.  (You can ignore the speaker templates and stuff.)
