Car Stereos: no bass output from pioneer ts-swx310, cd mp3 player, kenwood kac

i have a pioneer ts-swx310 subwoofer powered by a kenwood kac-5204 350w tied into a kenwood cd/mp3 player power goes to amp and light is on, but no output from the sub. i have tried everything i can imagine to fix this and no dice...please help!!!!!

Hi James,

There could be any number of issues at work here.

First, if the amplifier is hooked up with RCAs, make sure the RCAs are working and have good connections.  If they're hooked up to the deck's 'subwoofer' output, make sure the deck has the subwoofer output turned on (many decks have it turned off out of the factory, it should be in the options menu somewhere.)

Next, if it's high level input you're using, make sure that there's sound on those wires, and the amp is configured to receive a high level input, and it's hooked up correctly.
