I want to add a bass package to my Stock bose system but worry about the bose programming actually reducing the bass signal as the volume is increased. 2003 Infiniti M45 stock head unit is actually built by Clarion for bose. turn it up and the bass reaches a terminal volume and remains there as the rest of the music increases. Frustrating!!!

Hi Bob,

What you're dealing with is unlikely to be the source unit limiting its output, and more likely to be the factory amplifier limiting itself to prevent the speakers clipping.  This is a good thing; the system is designed to get as loud as it reasonably can without damaging itself or how your music sounds.

If you want more bass, your best bet is to start upgrading hardware.
