Car Stereos: left side cuts out, internal amplifier, side speakers

when playing cd's the left side speakers cut out, but work fine when radio on. any idea's as to why?

I can't even begin to make sense of why that would happen.

If it is working just fine for radio, then unfortunately, the only thing I can imagine is something in the circuitry inside the deck that passes the decoded audio to the internal amplifier.

Which would mean you're looking at buying a new deck.
