Car Stereos: Sub wiring, ohm impedance, ohm load

Question
Hi Brian;
        I had asked you a question before and it was very helpful thank you by the way. Now I was wondering if you had a diagram on the right way to wire two subs to one amp. I have a monoblock amp that has an impedance of 2 or 4 ohms my subs are DVC 4 ohms how do I   connect both correctly to run on 4 ohms or will I have to cut down  to 2 ohms? Thanks in advance

Answer
Hi Pedro,

Sorry about the delay in answering your question.

With a pair of 4-ohm DVC subs, you don't really have the option of wiring them as a 2-ohm load; your choices are 1 ohm or 4 ohms.  Here's a diagram from JL Audio that will give you a 4-ohm impedance:

This comes from the support section on JL's web site.  They have very useful information about subwoofer wiring and other topics.

Hope this helps!
