Car Stereos: No Sound!!, alpine amp, internal amplifier

hi there
i have a problem in my 2005 gmc truck. i have alpine deck and speakers in it. everything was working good until i went and hooked up my alpine amp to run my subs. but when i went to turn it back on i had no sound ? i checked all the wires behind my
deck and everything was good. there is absolutely no sound!

Hi Logan,

This can be any number of things.

First, check if the deck has its own fuse.  Many do, and that fuse controls the internal amplifier.  If that's blown, the deck will work but have no sound output.

If it's not that, try unplugging the pre-outs from the deck and see if your sound comes back.  Some decks automatically turn off the internal amplifier when they detect something connected to the preouts.

Failing that, find where you broke the connections. :)
