Car Stereos: Wiring speakers to amp, wiring speakers, pyle

Question
Can I connect 6 speakers plus a sub woofer to my PYLE PLMRA420 4 Channel 1000 Watt Waterproof Marine Bridgeable Mosfet Amplifier? Is it ok to wire the speakers in parallel? I have 4 PYLE PLG69.8 6-Inch x 9-Inch 500 Watt Eight-Way Speakers, 2 PYLE PLG6.4 6.5-Inch 300 Watt Four-Way Speakers, & 1 PYLE PLMRW10 10-Inch 500 Watt White 4 Ohm Marine Subwoofer. I am building a stand alone system in a large ice chest.
Thanks,
Nelson

Answer
Hi Nelson,

I don't know the specs on all those speakers, but just follow Ohm's law with them.  You can wire them in parallel just fine, and it's always safe to run a HIGHER impedance through an amp, but never lower.

IE, if the amp can handle 2ohms, then you can run 2, 4, 8, 16, etc ohms through it, but never 1.

But remember the higher the impedance, the less power the amp will generally be able to drive.

As long as you can wire the speakers in some configuration that will get you the amp's rated impedance or higher, then you can do whatever you like.
