Car Stereos: hummer aftermarket system, 2006 h3, two subs

Question
Hi, I have a 2006 H3 and looking to get a system.  I want to get 2 10 inch sub
under my back seat.  Can you tell me what is the best way to go about this?  I
also want to get a ipod connector routed through my dashboard and out my
glove box.  Can you help me out?

Answer
Hi Colin,

Sorry about the delay in answering your question.

I've seen a few sub boxes designed for the H3, but I haven't found an under-seat box made for two subs (just singles).  You might want to visit a local custom car audio shop and see if they're able to custom-build a box for you.  Another advantage of a custom sub box is that it can be matched to the subs you choose.  There's a good possibility you'll need to stick with subs designed for a shallow mount.

You didn't say whether you're keeping your factory radio or upgrading to an after-market head unit.  Either way, it's possible to get an iPod connection at the rear and run the connector to the glove box.  If you're keeping the stock radio, look for a PAC ISGM575 adapter.  Many after-market head units will give you a rear iPod connection option, either USB or a proprietary design.

Hope this helps!
