Car Stereos: AUDI A4 1999 CONCERT STEREO -SUITABLE REPLACEMENT?, original factory, suitable replacement

Hi,
I have a 1999 Audi A4, with the original factory installed concert stereo. The
volume is malfunctioning on it and I am looking at getting a replacement. It
doesn't seem to be a standard DIN though? It measures approximately
220mm wide and 58mm high; what DIN is this? 1.5?
What would you recommend as a replacement?

Jessica,  You are correct on the 1.5 DIN, but the few models that are available for that exact size are not very appealing.  I would suggest a normal single DIN sized radio, and you can buy a mounting kit to make it look like it belongs in the dash.  My suggestions for stereos would be Alpine first, then Clarion, Kenwood, or Nakamichi.  Hope this helps, Scott
