Car Stereos: car dvd installation question, video distribution amplifier, rca cables

i bought a car dvd player but one thing has me confused and that is ; how namy RCA cable do i need to run from car dvd player to an amp and i know that 1 RCA for the audio but do i need 1 RCA cable for a video too and how about the plugs do I need to run RCA cable for that too? thanks alot

Hi,

If you're talking about an amplifier that's meant to drive speakers, then you only need to connect it to audio outputs from the head unit.  Depending on what you're using the amplifier for, you may need to run two RCA cables (for the left and right audio channels) or only a single cable (for a mono subwoofer amp).  The only reason you'd need to use the video RCA output would be for external video monitors, or a video distribution amplifier.
