Car Stereos: problems with audi bose system, bose system, audio buttons

hi my names colleen and im kinda electronically retarded so i was wondering if you could help me out. Recentlly my whole car stereo in my 2002 audi a6 just stopped working. nothing happens when i push the on off button and the word SAFE does not appear.  The red lights in the display screen and all of the audio buttons stay lite even though the car is off and locked. Did i blow a fuse or something? i have no idea, please help, i cant stand not having music while driving!

Hi Colleen,

If the lights in the deck stay on when you turn the car off, but the deck itself doesn't work, it sounds like it's fried itself.

Your best bet is to see if you can find a direct replacement for it at a wrecker or something, as Audi will charge you far more than the deck is worth to replace it.

If you can't find one, go aftermarket, it'll sound better, and be cheaper.
