Car Stereos: Box size/tuning question, expecting miracles, expecting a miracle

Question
I will be getting a DC level 4 12.  I'm looking for a box that's simple to build and will give me reasonable SQ and loudness.  I'm not expecting miracles.  This will be going in a trunk and powered by a DD M1a at 1 ohm, so I will have 1200 watts. I mainly want the thing to drop low.  Again, I'm not expecting a miracle.

I found CarAudio.com's "Free Box Plans" thread and would like someone with knowledge to look over the box.  If the box specs are correct, it is 1.6 cubes tuned to 32.  I'm thinking this will be a good first box, and if it doesn't meet my standards, I can just rebuild.  But I just need to know if the box specs are accurate.

Answer
Well you know what they say, measure twice, cut once. Excellent choice of equipment, I'm running twelve LVL4s myself. =]

Before you build a low tuner, you need to remember those LVL4's Fs is extremely high with those progressive spiders right out of the box. Once you give them about 30-40 hours of play time, they will drop down to the low end you're looking for. This doesn't mean worry about the "break in" period though since it's a myth anyways. You will get most power handling with be a new sub or fresh recone. If anyone doesn't believe me, ask Craig Butler. =]

CA's box plans are legit and they are correct in their specs. I looked at your max dimensions though and came up with something that was nearly exact to one of Moe Lester's designs.

After going through his designs, I say build the 1.65 @ 28 or the 1.75 @ 32. The first one will give better SQ and a very low end, while the latter will yield more output. Both will play sub 30 sufficiently, but I wouldn't abuse it in either case.

Let me know if you need anything else man! I would have given my specs, but his design was almost exactly the same and you have a visual representation which I can't give.
