Chevrolet Repair: Sonoma Transmision, gmc sonoma, silicone sealer

Question
hello, i have a 1998 gmc sonoma with a leaking transmision.  i have to pull the tranny to replace slave cylinder so i am going to replace clutch at the same time.  my question is what seals are in a sonoma tranny with a manual tranny 4cly 2.2 motor 2 wheel drive short cab.  can i change any of these seals myself or do i need to take it to a tranny shop?  thank you in advance.

Answer
Hi Fred, This trans is sealed with a silicone sealer at the case seams,so if this is the area of the leak you will need to have someone do that for you. There is a seal at the front input shaft and output shaft you can replace.

Hope this helps
