Question
yes sir i just bought a 2010 power wagon and went with the 9 speaker alpine upgrade and it is horrible idk if the amp isnt working or if i was just expecting more ... any way the highs are plentiful with slight distortion maybe from no cross over but there is no bottom end at all i replaced the factory 8 in sub with a polk audio and made zero diffrence in the sound ...i need to keep the factory head unit but there are no seperate sub controls ...what would you sugest as far as amping the sub ?total amp replacement ? speaker replacment / any thopughts or advise would be greatly apreciated

Answer
Hi Bob,

I think your best option is to add a separate amplifier/subwoofer combo, instead of trying to work within the confines of the factory system.  One possibility is Infinity's Basslink; this is a subwoofer with a built-in amplifier, designed especially for use with factory audio systems.  I've used this several times with excellent results; it doesn't take up much space (compared to a typical subwoofer box) and is relatively easy to install.

Hope this helps!

Brian
