Question
i am trying to install a sony explode deck in a 97 thunderbird but i cant get power to the deck my wiring in the car works can you tell me what could be wrong i have a red and yellow wire from the back of the stereo and dont know where to put them

Hi Jay,

The after-market deck's yellow power wire should be connected to a constant power source; the red wire is meant to be connected to the switched power lead.  If you can't get the new radio to power up, you might want to check the vehicle fuses; the constant power wire in the factory radio harness is usually fused in the engine compartment electrical box.  The fuse may not be labeled as a "radio" fuse, so be sure to check them all.
