Hi Brian I will be installing a woofer box and an amp for a friend later today. I just want to clarify the dark greed/red wire behind the glove box is the amp trigger wire, or is there another wire closer to the fuse box I can use.. thank you

Hi Jason,

Newer Dodge Rams do not have any amp trigger wire; if there's a factory amp equipped, it's controlled through the vehicle's data bus system.  I don't know what your green/red wire is, but it's not an amp remote.  It's not a radio accessory power wire either; this is also controlled through the data bus.

My advice would be to tap the amp's remote wire into the source wire for the switched 12v power outlet (cigarette lighter).  Usually the outlet works as an accessory power source, similar to the radio power; often there's one key-switched outlet and one constant power outlet.  The outlet covers should be marked with a battery symbol for the constant power outlet, and a key symbol for the switched outlet.  You can tap the wires right at the back of the outlet, or find the outlet fuse in the vehicle fuse box.
