Car Stereos: 15 subs what amp?, watts rms, mono amplifier

Question
I have 2 15" cadence wild beast subs, i was told a 1500w amp is what i need but i'm wanted to check with you as well.

Answer
Hi Nikolas,

From what I can tell, the Wild Beast is a single voice coil, 4-ohm subwoofer with a RMS power rating of 750 watts.  If you use a mono amplifier rated for 1500 watts RMS, then the power produced will be divided evenly between the two subs; so a 1500 watt amplifier should be a good match.  In fact, any amp between 1000 watts and 1500 watts would probably work just fine.  Make sure you're looking at RMS ratings, not "peak" or "max" ratings; and look at the 2-ohm power rating of the amplifier--it will probably be different from the 4-ohm rating.  You're definitely going to want a mono amp, not a 2-channel amp.

Hope this helps!
